Dr. Mammen has been practicing general dentistry since 1999. He received his high school diploma from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA in 1991. He completed his undergraduate studies in 1995 at Washington University in St. Louis, MO where he earned a double major in Anthropology and Biology. Dr. Mammen then went on to attend dental school at one of the country’s Ivy League institutions, the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He graduated with a D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree in 1999. Following dental school, Dr. Mammen served our country as a Captain in the U.S. Army where he completed a general dentistry residency at Fort Carson, CO in 2000. He then served as the Officer in Charge at both Camp Edwards and Camp Greaves in Korea and as a Staff General Dentist at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY from 2000-2002.
Following his military service, Dr. Mammen moved to Connecticut where he was offered an opportunity to help open and
develop the dental department at East Hartford Community HealthCare as the center’s first Dental Director. As the Director, Dr. Mammen was instrumental in not only developing the dental department but also developing the standard of dental care for the community of East Hartford. He held this position from 2002-2007. During this time, Dr. Mammen was appointed as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he was responsible for overseeing students and residents in their treatment of patients. In 2005, Dr. Mammen became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.), an honor only a small percentage of dentists have received.
Dr. Mammen and his family relocated to the Houston area in late 2007 to be closer to friends and family. His wife, Anju is a pediatrician in Katy. They have 3 wonderful young children. In January 2008, he purchased The Smile Enhancement Center where he continues to provide the highest standard of general and cosmetic dentistry with a personalized touch. Dr. Mammen is here to provide you with all of your dentistry and cosmetic needs.
Dr. Mammen is not only committed to providing all of his patients with the very best that modern dentistry has to offer but is continually expanding his own knowledge through continuing education. He is an active member in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy (a dental honor society), and the Academy of General Dentistry. Outside of his passion for dentistry, Dr. Mammen is an avid sports fan. He enjoys playing basketball and spending time with friends and family.
